The Challenge: Strong Magnets and Surface Integrity

Many customers know us from the magnet pot and magnetic hook. Our company has consistently prioritized developing hooks with exceptional magnetic strength to ensure reliability and customer satisfaction, and win people’s favour in the past. However, one time, one of our customers told us that due to the great power, when people move the hook on the thin iron plate, these high-strength magnetic hooks often leave visible compression marks and indentations. This customer is a big owner of Chain Supermarket, he wants everything to be perfect for his customers. People won’t want any maintain pristine surface conditions on their refrigerators, metal cabinets, or decorative metal panels.

So, how to solve this problem?

The easiest method is to lower the power of these magnetic hooks. But we still want it maintain the good power.

So, back on the surface protection, we can add some film on the bottom of the magnetic hook to achieve it. That is a good solution, but another problem is that due to the magnet does not directly absorb the iron plate, the pull force would be highly reduced. If we want to maintain the magnetic power, we have to use a bigger or higher-grade magnet. That means our customer would need more money.

Finally, we find the polyurethane film. With a thickness of just 0.3mm, the film would try its best to reduce attenuation caused by magnetic force due to its thin film thickness. Due to its high viscosity, the cushioning effect of the polyurethane film completely eliminates compression marks and indentations on metal surfaces. This protection extends to various metal finishes, including painted, polished, and brushed surfaces, making our hooks suitable for use on premium metal furnishings and fixtures.

Furthermore, the specific polyurethane compound was selected for its durability and resistance to environmental factors such as temperature fluctuations, humidity, and UV exposure. These properties protect the magnet too and extend the product's lifecycle. People also find the hook has a better hand feel!

At last, our Laboratory testing confirms that the magnetic attraction force remains within 85% of the original strength, ensuring that the hooks maintain their superior load-bearing capacity. About the lateral stability: the polyurethane film significantly increases the coefficient of friction between the hook and the metal surface compared to the previous smooth metal-to-metal contact. This increased friction substantially improves the hook's resistance to lateral forces, preventing sliding or displacement when side loads are applied. Remarkably, comparative testing shows that the lateral force resistance of the new design matches or even slightly exceeds that of the original design, despite the introduction of the intermediate layer.
